The record was recorded in the months leading up to Covid19's first closing and was originally scheduled for release in September 2020. However, the new material is strangely timely given the brand new challenges we face in today's new world. For example, the surging pilot single "Last One Out Turn Off The Lights" could easily be mistaken for a frantic Lockdown at first. "The song is actually directly about Brexit. But you can interpret it in many ways," Luke continues. On the one hand, the song reflects the album's barely tamed power, as well as the overall tone of the record, which sees the band tackling topical themes such as depression, mental health and diversity. The deluxe 2CD includes the new album, bonus tracks and live versions of new songs.
