The Outskirts Of Prosper which is TD Lind’s third musical outing, is a beautifully crafted album of heartfelt work. There is much variety here and the album’s twelve tracks focus on the changes in the artist’s life since his last recording Call Me Sinner which was released in 2008. In this new release, there are many intimate and personal lyrics, and throughout it is beautifully balanced. The dozen songs which play over over 50 minutes, were recorded live in the studio without an audience and as a result the sound is raw and vibrant. As well as signing to Dramatico Records at the beginning of this year, TD has relocated to Los Angeles, married his sweetheart and also become a father. Positive experiences resonate throughout the words of the upbeat love stories of It’s Lovely which is a very happy and simple song with some fantastic guitar work, and Head Over Heels about the euphoria being with the one you love. From the first single Pushover Boy Blues through to the darker Fate Fell Asleep At The Wheel, the ironic Goodnight From Hollywood and the reflective Mercy, all the songs really show off the talents of an artist that has musically something to offer everyone. There is more than enough power in this album to disturb the neighbours if played loudly, but equally enough to sit back and enjoy on a quiet and reflective Sunday morning. The guitar work and musicianship in this album is phenomenal throughout, and Producer Alex Gibson has really given this release a sound with a real punch bringing out the best from the bands hard graft. In these days of brief and fleeting stardom, I would say that TD has a bright and assured future and I look forward to seeing him and his band live when he returns to the UK later on in the year.
