Finding Dad: A son's 50 year search for the truth - Paul Bessell [KSIĄŻKA] Toruń

Devoted father, husband and politician... or spy, con man, liar and murderer?WHO WAS PETER BESSELL?Was he a patriotic British, Liberal Party MP, offered a Cabinet post in Harold Wilson's Labour Government? Or was he a shadowy British or American intelligence asset? Was he an internationally successful businessman or a shameless fraudster? Was he the witness to a murder plot, who honourably testified against his closest friend, Jeremy Thorpe? Or a traitorous Judas who turned on his friend to benefit himself? Was he a dedicated family man or a serial womaniser? At points, he was all of these things.Finding Dad is the extraordinary story of Paul Bessell's uncomfortable discovery of the truth about his father Peter, set against a background of astonishing business and political corruption.Drawing from extensive research from unseen archives left by his parents, along with US and UK National Archives, Finding Dad takes readers on a journey through the political and business worlds of London and New York in the 60s and 70s right up to the 'Trial of the Century'.
