Ennio Morricone (1928, Rome) is one of the most famous Italian composers of our time. He is a master orchestrator, conductor and arranger in equal measure. His early work for the genre of the so-called spaghetti western, together with the director Sergio Leone, and his wide range of musical styles have made him one of the most versatile and influential composers of all time. Morricone has composed more than 500 scores for film and television and over 100 classical works. In addition to five Academy Award nominations, he won the 2016 Academy Award for Best Film Score for The Hateful 8 and the 2007 Academy Award for Lifetime Achievement. He has also received other awards and nominations, including Golden Globes and Grammy Awards. The double album Collected contains a superb selection of Morricone's most popular themes and melodies from the most famous classic films of all time, including Play Me the Song of Death, The Good, The Bad And The Ugly, My Name Is Nobody, For a Fistful of Dollars and many other highlights from his extensive repertoire.
